Welcome Day SSM: the University welcomes the new residents of its 26 Medicine Specialty Schools

On Monday 28th and Tuesday 29th October, the campus warmly received the new residents for the Welcome Day dedicated to the 26 Schools of Specialty in Medicine of Humanitas University: two days of information and meetings to welcome the future medical residents to our University!

Prof. Luigi Maria Terracciano – Rector of Humanitas University, opened the event with words of encouragement, stressing the importance of embracing every learning opportunity with enthusiasm, passion and curiosity.

Dr. Luciano Ravera – Chief Executive Officer of the Humanitas Group, introduced the IRCCS Istituto Clinico Humanitas, offering new residents a comprehensive overview of patient care and research in the Humanitas hospital network.

Prof. Mario Romano – Director of the School of Medical Specialty in Ophthalmology, spoke on behalf of all the Specialty School Directors, explaining the journey ahead of the students. It is a highly emotional journey, filled with challenges and uncertainty. However, it is precisely by facing difficulties and fears that one can grow and mature as a professional.

Humanitas’ postgraduates then shared their experiences and offered an authentic insight into their daily lives, enriching them with practical advice on how to best approach the postgraduate journey.

Through practical activities and interactive games, participants learned that in addition to technical skills, it is crucial to develop soft skills such as communication, teamwork and relationship management.
