Preparing for IMAT Test
To tackle successfully the IMAT test you should take care of three fundamental aspects: your chemical knowledge, the approach used to face queries and quickness.
Starting from the review of all the chemical subjects treated during high school, remind that in IMAT there are some topics that will not be missed, such as questions on the basics (atom structures, the periodic table of elements, chemical bonding), stoichiometry problems (especially solution, pH, acid and base) and chemical reactions (redox, reactivity of the major organic compounds). Furthermore, great importance is given also to organic chemistry nomenclature and isomer compounds that are not always exhaustively developed during high school.
Once the review is complete and you figure out the possible weak points, use the training exercises of previous IMAT tests to learn how to tackle rightly exam questions by identifying the possible traps hidden in it and make practice on the use of logical and critical reasoning to achieve the quick but good answer.
Practice is fundamental because besides knowing what students need, is almost an automatic way to face questions. Indeed, under pressure during IMAT, training will matter.
