International Women on Board: inspiring global leaders meet on campus

Last month, we had the honor of hosting the International Women on Board Network on campus, welcoming 25 influential women leaders from Africa and Asia. These accomplished professionals, hailing from a variety of industries, came together to share their remarkable career journeys and insights, creating an inspiring atmosphere that energized and empowered everyone present.

This memorable event was further enriched by the presence of our esteemed faculty members, including Elena Azzolini, Maurizio Cecconi, and Maura Marcucci. Each brought their unique perspectives and expertise in medicine, research, and academia, delivering impactful messages that resonated deeply with students and guests alike. Their stories not only reflected their personal achievements but also highlighted the contributions of the international journal of Humanitas University.

In a dynamic exchange of ideas, student societies actively engaged with these exceptional women leaders, participating in meaningful discussions about career pathways, leadership, and the pivotal role of mentorship. The excitement and enthusiasm in the room were palpable as our students absorbed invaluable advice on how to navigate their own professional journeys, both within the medical field and beyond.

Key takeaways: empowering the leaders of tomorrow

Three powerful themes emerged from the dialogues between students and these inspiring leaders:

  1. Trust Your Inner Spark: Embrace the unique energy and passion within you. It is this spark that will illuminate your path and lead you to new and unexpected opportunities. Never shy away from exploring the unknown.
  2. Step into Leadership: Leadership begins with small steps. Whether as a student ambassador, a volunteer, or a team leader, each role contributes to your growth. Embrace these opportunities with confidence.
  3. Find a Mentor: The value of mentorship cannot be overstated. A mentor offers guidance, perspective, and encouragement, especially during challenging times. Building this relationship can be transformative for both personal and professional development.

A growing partnership for the future

Looking ahead, we are eager to deepen our collaboration with the International Women on Board Network, a global coalition of extraordinary women leading across diverse sectors. This partnership reaffirms our commitment to nurturing the next generation of female leaders through mentorship and empowerment, equipping them to excel in their chosen fields and make a lasting impact.

Fostering diversity, ambition, and excellence

Events like these underscore our dedication to providing students with unparalleled opportunities to connect with global networks and mentors. By fostering an environment of diversity, ambition, and excellence, we aim to inspire our students to embrace leadership at every stage of their careers—all within a rich, international context.

Together, we continue to pave the way for a brighter, more inclusive future, empowering our students to lead with purpose and vision.
