Hunimed Excellence in Research Track is now part of the Virgilio Program

Two years ago Humanitas University launched its integrative training course called “Excellence in Research Track” (ERT) dedicated to its medical students interested in investigating the relationship between basic and clinical research.

The ERT is now part of a new project, the Virgilio Program, involving 3 Universities and sustained by Fondazione Cariplo.

The Virgilio Program (VP) is a supplementary training course open to students attending the Master Degree in Medicine and Surgery of the three partner universities: University of Milano-Bicocca, University of Milano, Humanitas University.

The Virgilio Program: aim and contents

The VP is aimed at students interested in deepening their understanding of research methods and ethics and the link between basic sciences and clinical sciences research. The ultimate goal is to enhance the talent and skills for research of medical students with a clear inclination for this career path through a dedicated training track.

The VP will integrate the regular MD course with seminars, practical courses, interactive teaching activities, and laboratory experience, both as summer internship and thesis internship, aiming at providing students with methodological skills enabling active participation and the development of knowledge in translational medicine.
