The Application Calls for the PhD Programmes are now open
Are you looking to start a new academic path in a highly competitive scientific research environment, and get advanced training in various fields of medicine and life sciences? The application calls for the PhD Programmes of Humanitas University are now open. Three programmes are available for Academic Year 2023/2024.
Molecular and Experimental Medicine (MEM)
This PhD Programme offers training in life sciences and molecular medicine, providing access to advanced technology and clinical case lists for translational studies. It aims to prepare individuals for careers in biotech companies, translational research, and clinical or academic fields globally. The program focuses on transferring new knowledge from basic sciences to bio-medicine, fostering the development of innovative diagnostic and therapeutic applications.
Data Science in Medicine
The PhD Programme focuses on addressing challenges in the life sciences and scientific/clinical research training. It has an international dimension, with English as the language of instruction and involvement of foreign teachers. The program tackles the analysis of big data using effective algorithms to predict clinical responses in medicine and precision nutrition. Specific training is provided on enabling technologies like homics, bioinformatics, imaging, sequencing, and flow cytometry. The program includes seminars by foreign lecturers, promotes a stimulating environment through journal clubs and interdisciplinary exchanges, encourages researcher independence, and offers opportunities for training abroad.
Applied Clinical Research
The PhD focuses on providing the fundamentals of clinical and applied research, involving various research institutions, hospitals, regulatory bodies, pharmaceutical companies, and stakeholders. Its goal is to train individuals capable of generating high-quality and innovative clinical trials, considering the economic and ethical aspects of research and the practical applicability of results to enhance patient health and quality of life. The program emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, involving expertise from medical, methodological, economic, and ethical fields, as well as experts from different backgrounds, such as clinical-preclinical, industrial, economic, and regulatory/decisional fields.
